• Arbiter. Control-focused, strong against elites and single targets. Pick Arbiter if you like timing windows and lockdown in harder content.
• Judge. Emphasizes big bursts and high-stakes windows. A strong endgame option when you can align cooldowns and gear affixes.

Best paladin gear: what to chase first

Best paladin gear is never “one set forever.” In Lord of Hatred, you are hunting items that amplify your oath and patch holes that Skovos content will expose—especially resist gaps and mobility. Start with a solid weapon, one defensive unique that matches your oath, and boots that do not lock you in place. After that, funnel mats through the Horadric Cube recipes in Lord of Hatred to reroll affixes, not to chase a perfect trinket on day one. When you are comparing yourself to another paladin, ask whether they are running higher War Plan tiers with team buffs, or the same solo content you are.
